In July 2012, the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, General Martin E. Dempsey, U.S.A., released the Joint Education White Paper, challenging those in the Professional Military Education and Joint Professional Military Education community to develop agile, adaptive leaders with the requisite values, strategic vision and critical thinking skills necessary to keep pace with the changing strategic environment.
